Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

How does electric underfloor heating work?

Electric underfloor heating works by radiation. Radiation is a heat exchange system that uses infrared waves as a transfer vector. Two bodies or two objects having different temperatures naturally radiate towards each other and the flow of heat goes from the hottest element to the colder one.
The radiation emitted into the environment by the carbon fiber underfloor heating is transformed into heat upon contact with an object, a wall or a person.
The infrared waves are therefore not absorbed by the air but by solid bodies which transform them into thermal energy. This energy is transmitted into the environment, thus creating optimal comfort conditions for people.

Is underfloor electric heating safe?

Carbon Fiber Electric heating is safe and healthy, in fact, it doesn't create air displacements, avoids the movement of dust and eliminates the temperature differences between the various areas of the environment. This carbon fiber heating system guarantees maximum comfort by respecting the standards that limit the maximum surface temperature of the floor to 28 ° C.
The THERMAL TECHNOLOGY® system, as described by the Tests and Report of the IUAV University of Venice, highlights that "The average radiant temperature around 21 ° C allows to keep the air temperature lower than the standard 20 ° C typical of traditional heating systems . This allows to limit the internal-external temperature difference and therefore to limit energy dispersion. The analyzed radiant heating system also guarantees an air temperature difference between floor and ceiling of about 1.5°C, extremely low and interesting to avoid the possible localized discomfort.
Furthermore, since it is a system integrated into the floor, there is no possibility of direct contact with live elements and the Carbon Fiber does not produce electromagnetic emissions (approximately 47 times lower than the legal limits).

How much does underfloor heating cost?

The initial cost for an underfloor heating system depends on factors such as the surface to be heated, the type of cladding, insulation and heat requirements. It is also necessary to consider the variables that affect over time such as the consumption of the electric heating system, maintenance and intervention costs.
Thanks to the excellent heat distribution, the Thermal Technology® underfloor heating system allows the room temperature to be lowered by 1-2 ° C compared to other heating systems. 1 ° C less corresponds to a 7% reduction in consumption. In addition, the carbon fiber floor heating system does not require any maintenance.

Which carbon fiber electric heating system choose?

In addition to underfloor heating, other systems can be used to heat the house electrically, such as wall and ceiling electric heating or electric designer radiators. ThermalTechnology solutions can be used together, to maximize the result, or separately, as they equally guarantee optimal room heating and low energy consumption, as well as maximum safety and guarantee over time.

Why choose electric underfloor heating?

Carbon Fiber electric heating revolutionizes home heating, guaranteeing greater comfort and well-being. Thanks to radiation, it represents the best solution for the human body.
As we have already said, the heat is spread in all the rooms in a uniform way and this allows the body to always be warm, even if the temperature is not high. It is recommended to keep a temperature of just 18 °C to already feeling good.
The other heating systems, although efficient, do not allow the environment to be heated in a similar way but the heating, being of the localized type, requires to maintain a higher minimum temperature, about 24°C.

Pros and cons of electric underfloor heating?

Summarizing the advantages of the carbon fiber electric heating system we can say that
  • It maximize physical well-being
  • It allows energy savings over time
  • It can be used with renewable energy sources to increase energy savings
  • It reduces the movement of dust and mites
  • It doesn't require maintenance
  • It increase the free space inside the room
  • It allows independent temperature control
The disadvantage associated with electric underfloor heating is that it requires a more rigorous design than the simple installation of radiators and it can have, according to the different specifications, higher costs than traditional heating methods, which are however compensated by the energy and economic savings over time.

Do I need two thermostats?

Thermal Technology® heating system does not require a double temperature control, but only control in the room via a thermostat or timer-thermostat. In the case of a system with several rooms, it is recommended to use the Power Control unit as it is capable of
  • modulate operation based on the external temperature;
  • control and manage the maximum absorption peaks;
  • set attenuation bands.

Does carbon fiber underfloor heating have a guarantee?

As proof of the high technical-mechanical characteristics of Carbon Fiber, the manufacturer offers a 15-year guarantee from the date of purchase.
The Thermal Technology® electric underfloor heating system is also
  • reliable over time;
  • easy and quick to install;
  • reusable (if under a floating floor);
  • self-extinguishing and resistant to humidity, the electrical connections are IP67 certified.

Can I install the heating system by myself?

Thermal Technology underfloor heating systems are made to measure according to the customer's drawing and with the power cable at the required point. The assembly consists in spreading the supplied material in each room, so it can be installed independently, remembering that safety regulations must be respected for connections to the electrical system.
